Are you a sports fan,
or do you live with a sports fan?
Hubby has always enjoyed sports,
both participating and watching.
Me, I'm not a sports fanatic at all.
I will occasionally watch some sports if I don't
have anything else to do.
Hubby and I were born and raised in Pennsylvania
but have lived in Wisconsin for the past 30 years.
As I was rearranging our bar area
Hubby mentioned that he would like to have
a Penn State Nittany lion logo to hang by the bar.
He was very emphatic about how he wanted it to look.
He wanted his lion logo to look like the one on his sweatshirt.
I searched on line but was unable to find one big
enough to fit the area without spending a fortune.
So what did I do?
I dug through my craft room and was able to
create one for Hubby that costs $0 to make.
I started with a piece of foam core board.
Next, using an image
and contact paper, I created a stencil.
I usually have a roll of this laying around in my craft room.
This stuff works great for making stencils.
I buy cheap contact paper from the Dollar store.
Once I had my image chosen and sized to the
size I wanted my logo to be,
I taped my image onto the front of the contact paper
and cut out my image.
Because my image was wider than my Silhouette cutting
machine mat I had to manually cut it out by hand.
My image measures 13 x 19 inches.
I removed the backing paper from the contact
paper and carefully placed my image onto the foam core board
making sure that all the edges were tightly secured.
I was ready to paint my image.
I used acrylic craft paint and a 4 inch foam roller to paint over
the entire image.
I let the paint dry for about 1 hour and slowly peeled off
the contact paper to reveal the image.
For the final step I used an Exacto knife and cut around
the outer edge of my image.
Hubby was so pleased with his new logo sign he requested
a University of Wisconsin "W" too.
Of course I had to create one.😉
They now proudly hang in our bar area.
That's it for this week.
Until Next Time,
Veronica
